AUC VMAG Scholarship Application
DEADLINE: October 2, 2026
AUC VMAG is currently accepting scholarship applications from upper-class midshipmen for the 2026 – 2027 academic school year. Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship will be based on merit and the other on financial need.
Criteria:
• Applicant must be a member of the Morehouse College/AUC Navy ROTC or Army ROTC Unit.
• Applicant must be a sophomore, junior or senior in good standing (e.g., passed physical fitness test, demonstrated ethical conduct, etc.).
• The Merit Scholarship requires the applicant to:
(1) Write a one-page essay that explains the military job you desire and what you are currently doing to prepare. Include any leadership experience (e.g., battalion positions held, high school or college leadership position, etc.).
(2) Have a cumulative 3.0 or better GPA.
• The Master Chief Jeff Hutchinson Financial Need Scholarship requires the applicant to:
(1) Write a segment describing your financial need
(2) Have a cumulative 2.5 or better GPA.
• Each applicant must provide a letter of recommendation from a college professor, ROTC instructor or an employer (one letter only).
Submission instructions:
Download and fill out the Application/GPA form below the submit your recommendation letter, essay and Application/GPA form to Mr. Joe Baxter (awards@aucvmag.org). You must have your GPA certified by the signature of an ROTC staff member before submission.
